The online auction process is incredibly flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of the seller. Our typical auction process looks like this:
- Tell us what to sell. It’s helpful to schedule a time to bring in your items so we have the staff and space available to you as needed. Certain items sell better than others in this format, so this is a chance for us to discuss some options. At this time we are only accepting pre-approved consignment items. Please call in advance with any questions.
- Provide information. The quality and reliability of an item’s description and pictures directly impact the final bid price and ultimately the successful sale of the asset. Sellers often assist in this process by providing detailed information about their items. Photographs and videos are then taken by our staff in order to give bidders an accurate overview of auction pieces.
- Sign the agreement. The terms and logistics of the auction will be discussed during this process: from the commission rates and fees to when you can expect to receive your settlement check. Our sellers know exactly what to expect in our transparent and easy-to-understand process.
- RELAX! At this point, We Sell Your Stuff, Inc. creates the auction. This is the most crucial step of any auction and the information that has been provided will be most helpful to our staff during this phase.
- Watch the auction. Our auctions typically begin on Fridays, but be sure to ask for the details for your specific items, because now the fun starts and bids start coming in. All bids start at $5.00, so give the bidders a chance to find your item and for interest to grow. Once an auction goes “live”, We Sell Your Stuff, Inc. is responsible for fielding all questions relating to your item. Additional marketing campaigns may be launched to reach the maximum number of interested buyers. We manage the inspection period which allows interested bidders an opportunity to see, touch and ask questions about the assets being sold.
- Wait patiently. At this point, our auctions close and buyers prepare for removal. Our regular auctions are live for ten days and usually close on Sundays. Winning bidders are then alerted and we prepare for the removal date. Payments are collected and our staff assists with clearing the assets from the auction location.
- Receive payment. Approximately three weeks from the beginning of the auction, we process your check and provide a detailed settlement sheet showing you exactly what sold and for what price. There are exceptions to this time frame if payment or pick up is delayed by the buyer or an item does not sell due to a reserve, etc.
- Call us again. We hope that we have earned the right to your business in the future and would be happy to assist again.
